What weight is the WITHERSHIELD and when should I use it?
Rug weight depends on temperature, not season. As a guide: 0g (no fill) for 15C+, 100g for 10-15C, 200g for 5-10C, 300g+ for below 5C. Check the WITHERSHIELD product description for its fill weight. Adjust for your horse's coat type, shelter access, and individual needs.
How do I measure my horse for the WITHERSHIELD?
Measure from the centre of the chest, along the side of the horse, to the edge of the tail. Standard sizes are in feet and inches — most horses are between 5'6 and 7'0. Always size up if between sizes to prevent rubbing.
Can I leave the WITHERSHIELD on in the rain?
Check the WITHERSHIELD's waterproof rating in the product description. Turnout rugs are designed for wet weather, while stable rugs are not waterproof. Using a non-waterproof rug in heavy rain can cause chills and skin issues.
