Product FAQs
What weight is the Essential® FlyMask and when should I use it?
Rug weight depends on temperature, not season. As a guide: 0g (no fill) for 15C+, 100g for 10-15C, 200g for 5-10C, 300g+ for below 5C. Check the Essential® FlyMask product description for its fill weight. Adjust for your horse's coat type, shelter access, and individual needs.
How do I measure my horse for the Essential® FlyMask?
Measure from the centre of the chest, along the side of the horse, to the edge of the tail. Standard sizes are in feet and inches — most horses are between 5'6 and 7'0. Always size up if between sizes to prevent rubbing.
Can I leave the Essential® FlyMask on in the rain?
Check the Essential® FlyMask's waterproof rating in the product description. Turnout rugs are designed for wet weather, while stable rugs are not waterproof. Using a non-waterproof rug in heavy rain can cause chills and skin issues.
