French mouth Beval bit
What if a horse needs an occasional stronger answer but has a palate that holds grudges? The Jump'In French Mouth Beval exists for exactly that tension: three adjustable action modes, delivered through a centre that never touches the roof of the mouth.
How it works: the beval rings provide the now-familiar three positions - lateral control, light lever action, or gag - with intensity chosen simply by where the rein attaches. In the mouth, the French mouth centre takes one worry permanently off the table: no fold of metal pressing the palate when the action engages, so escalation never comes with a jab. As Jump'In notes, the same beval can be rigged to stay genuinely light.
Why we rate it: the pick of the beval family for sensitive mouths - we'd sooner put a reactive horse on this than a plain beval, since the escalation happens without adding insult. It rewards riders who actually use two reins and think about positioning rather than clipping on and hoping. German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel). Rinse the ring stack after each session; browse our leverage bits.
