One-sided horses stay one-sided under pressure unless something in the equipment notices. Jump'In's Double Cannon Full Cheek Gag notices: its off-set cannons read differently left and right, working on the horse's symmetry even while the gag cheek handles the rebalancing.

How it works: gag action asks the horse to lift and shift weight onto the hindquarters, scaled by ring size; full cheek arms keep direction secure throughout. The distinctive part is the mouthpiece: positioned asymmetrically, the cannons help correct the imbalance between left and right hands, per Jump'In, nudging the horse back toward even work rather than letting the crookedness ride along. Special cheekpieces required; two reins, loops, or four.

Why we rate it: for the horse that falls apart on one rein specifically when the questions get big - cross-country speeds, big tracks, tired-weekend showjumping - this is the rare bit addressing the crookedness instead of overpowering it. Pair it with straightness-focused flatwork for full effect. German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel). Rinse the off-set cannon joins carefully; browse our leverage bits.

— Sizes: 125 mm (5 in) or 135 mm (5.25 in).
