Quick Answer: Shop Horse Pilot in Australia — French technical riding jackets, breeches and airbag vests from the certified B-Corp performance brand riders trust. Known for the Aeromade competition jacket, Twist'Air airbag vest, and technical riding wear, Horse Pilot applies sports science to equestrian gear.
French Technical Equestrian Apparel Engineered for Performance
Horse Pilot was founded in France with a clear mission: apply athletic performance engineering to equestrian apparel. The result is a range that treats riding gear like sportswear — moisture-wicking fabrics, temperature regulation, aerodynamic cuts, and technical construction throughout. The Aeromade competition jacket is the brand’s signature piece, featuring a tailored silhouette with technical fabric that regulates body temperature during high-stress competition rounds.
For Australian riders, Horse Pilot’s approach is particularly relevant. The technical fabrics wick moisture and allow airflow, making Aeromesh polos and Aerolight shirts ideal for hot Australian conditions. The Twist'Air airbag vest provides impact protection for eventing and show jumping, while the range of riding tights, competition wear, and casual gear covers the full riding wardrobe. Horse Pilot also produces horse equipment including anti-noise hoods, saddle pads, and ergonomic gear designed with the same performance philosophy.

Aeromade Competition Jackets and Show Wear
Horse Pilot’s flagship product line brings technical fabric engineering to competition jackets.
Aeromade Competition Jacket
The Aeromade is Horse Pilot’s signature competition jacket — a technical alternative to traditional wool show coats. The fabric regulates body temperature, wicks moisture, and allows full shoulder rotation for unrestricted riding. Available in men’s and women’s cuts, the Aeromade has become popular with Australian dressage and show jumping riders who need to stay cool under pressure.
Long Frac and Mini Frac
The Long Frac is Horse Pilot’s dressage tailcoat — a modern interpretation of the traditional tailcoat with technical fabric construction. The Mini Frac offers a shorter back length for riders who prefer a more contemporary silhouette. Both maintain formal presentation while delivering the comfort of technical fabric.
Aerolight and Aeromesh Show Shirts
Aerolight short-sleeve and long-sleeve show shirts use the same moisture-wicking fabric as the Aeromade jacket. Aeromesh polos provide breathable comfort for warm-up and yard wear. The technical fabric keeps riders dry in hot Australian conditions where traditional cotton shirts become saturated.
Casual Riding Wear and Lifestyle
Horse Pilot’s casual range brings the same technical engineering to everyday riding and yard wear.
Atlas Polo and Technical Tees
The Atlas Polo is Horse Pilot’s everyday workhorse — a technical polo with moisture-wicking fabric and athletic tailoring. Available in men’s, women’s, and unisex cuts. The Aeromesh Polo features mesh ventilation panels for maximum airflow in Australian summer conditions. Pair with riding tights or breeches for schooling.
Riding Tights and Leggings
Horse Pilot riding tights and leggings offer stretch, breathability, and grip options for schooling and hacking. The X-Grip dressage trousers feature full-seat grip for secure contact, while the Legging provides lightweight comfort for everyday riding. All tights use four-way stretch fabric that moves with the rider.
Sweatshirts, Jackets and Caps
Horse Pilot sweatshirts, including the Merino wool riding sweatshirt and hooded riding sweatshirt, provide warmth for cool Australian mornings. The Element jacket and Fahrenheit range offer technical outerwear for riding and travel. Caps and beanie options complete the lifestyle range.
Twist’Air Airbag Vests and Safety Equipment
Horse Pilot’s airbag vests provide rider impact protection for eventing, show jumping, and cross-country.
Twist’Air Airbag Vest
The Twist’Air Airbag is Horse Pilot’s rider safety vest — a lightweight airbag system that deploys on rider separation from the saddle. The vest inflates around the torso, neck, and spine to absorb impact during a fall. Available in unisex and junior sizes, with cartridge refills and accessory kits available separately. Compatible with Horse Pilot’s airbag-compatible outer shells.
Horse Equipment
Horse Pilot also produces horse equipment including the anti-noise horse hood for sensitive horses, ergonomic saddle pads, and jumping saddle pads. These products apply the same performance engineering philosophy to horse comfort — the anti-noise hood reduces arena noise for young or sensitive horses, similar to noise-reducing ear bonnets.
Sizing and Fit Guide
Horse Pilot uses European sizing throughout. Competition jackets (Aeromade, Long Frac) are sized in chest measurements — check the size chart on each product page. Polos and casual tops use standard European sizes (XS-XXL). Riding tights and leggings use waist measurements. When in doubt, consult the product-specific size chart or contact us for advice on Horse Pilot sizing.
For Australian riders, Horse Pilot sizing tends to run true to European standards. The Aeromade jacket should fit close to the body for its aerodynamic design — if between sizes, size down for a tailored look or up for a more relaxed fit. Airbag vests should be fitted snugly to ensure proper deployment. Children’s and junior sizes are available in the Team Range and Aeromesh Girl/Boy collections.
Care and Maintenance
Horse Pilot technical fabrics should be machine washed on a gentle cycle in cool water (30°C). Avoid fabric softeners as they reduce moisture-wicking performance. Air dry — never tumble dry as heat damages technical fibres. For Aeromade jackets, fasten all closures before washing to maintain shape. Store competition jackets on quality hangers in garment bags.
Airbag vests require specific care — do not wash the airbag unit. Clean the outer shell separately according to care instructions. Check the cartridge before each use and replace after any deployment. Store airbag vests in a dry, ventilated area away from direct heat. Inspect the leash attachment point regularly for wear. Keep spare cartridges in your tack box for competition day.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Horse Pilot known for?
Horse Pilot is known for technical equestrian apparel — the Aeromade competition jacket, Twist’Air airbag vest, and Aeromesh polos. Founded in France, the brand applies athletic performance engineering to riding gear.
Are Horse Pilot jackets suitable for Australian summers?
Yes. Horse Pilot Aeromade jackets use technical fabric that regulates body temperature and wicks moisture, making them suitable for Australian summer competition. The fabric is far more breathable than traditional wool show coats.
How does the Twist’Air airbag vest work?
The Twist’Air airbag vest attaches to the saddle via a leash. When the rider separates from the saddle during a fall, the leash pulls a firing pin that deploys the airbag, inflating around the torso, neck, and spine to absorb impact. The cartridge must be replaced after each deployment.
What sizing does Horse Pilot use?
Horse Pilot uses European sizing. Competition jackets are sized by chest measurement; polos and casual tops use XS-XXL; riding tights use waist measurements. Check the size chart on each product page or contact us for sizing advice.
Can I wash Horse Pilot technical fabrics?

Does Horse Pilot make horse equipment?
Yes. Horse Pilot produces horse equipment including anti-noise hoods for sensitive horses, ergonomic saddle pads, and jumping saddle pads. These products apply the same performance engineering philosophy to horse comfort.
