Pelham Bit Loops

Riding a Pelham on two reins gives you a snaffle rein and a curb rein; these Jump'In Pelham bit loops cover the third option. If you prefer one pair of reins, the loops bridge the shank rings to the rein and soften the curb action between your hand and the horse's mouth - a halfway point between direct and leveraged contact.

How it works: each loop is a leather strap fitted with a buckle at both ends, so it clips neatly between the bit ring and the rein. The leather gives a touch of flex where a metal connection would be rigid, taking some of the edge off the leverage. Despite the name, they work with other curb-type configurations such as the Pessoa as well.

Why we rate it: a genuinely useful piece of transition equipment: horses stepping up from a snaffle often go better with the curb introduction softened rather than delivered raw.
