Some horses go better with a little more surround to the rein aid, and the French mouth full cheek 3 ring bit from Jump'In delivers exactly that: a gag action with more encircling effect than the classic 3 ring model.

How it works: the full cheeks keep the bit stable and pressing against the lips for directional control, while the three-ring setup introduces the gag leverage. The French mouth mouthpiece removes pressure from the roof of the mouth. You can ride it with the reins fixed on the bottom ring, with bit loops, or with two pairs of reins for a graduated action.

Why we rate it: it is made in German Silver, an alloy of 65% copper, 23% zinc and 12% nickel that most horses accept willingly, and the two-rein option lets you soften down as the horse comes round. Rinse it after each ride so no residue builds.

— German Silver construction from Jump'In's 550-reference French range. See our leverage bits and bits.
