Take Jump'In's plain large ring gag and swap standard cannons for linked Waterford balls: the Large Ring Waterford Gag takes the strongest anti-lean mouthpiece to the strongest gag ring size, for the horse that has beaten every softer combination.

How it works: large rings deliver pronounced gag action, prompting the rebalance and the weight-shift back onto the hindquarters. Underneath, the Waterford cannon's rolling spheres split all contact points, so the horse that leans as a lifestyle finds no rail to post up against anywhere in the bit - the cheek and the mouthpiece now answer the same problem from two directions at once.

Why we rate it: a confident piece of equipment reserved for confident hands - the combination genuinely works on established pullers, but order matters: four reins, schooling first, and honest riding. For the right horse it is transformative; for a green horse it would simply be unfair. German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel). Clean between every ball after use. Compare across our leverage bits.
