French mouth Eggbutt Gag bit with roller and high port
The Jump'In French Mouth Eggbutt Gag with Roller and High Port is the full-comfort spec of the gag family: ported for the tongue, rolling copper for the jaw, French mouth for the palate, in one polished package.
How it works: the gag action asks the horse to rebalance and shift weight back, scaled by ring size, while the fixed eggbutt cheeks add their slight lever effect and keep the bit steady between aids. Inside, the high port gives the tongue its place for better breathing and focus, and rollers give a busy mouth something to do that is not leaning or evading. The French mouth centre keeps the palate clear. Special cheekpieces; two reins, loops, or four.
Why we rate it: proof that a firm bit need not be a harsh one - every ingredient here exists to keep the horse chewing during a phase of work that usually tightens jaws. For the sensitive horse that leans only when worried, it hits a rare middle ground. Fair to call it specialist kit; treat the fit respectfully. German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel). Rollers need a proper clean after riding. Browse our leverage bits.
