How it works: reins on the snaffle ring act direct; reins on the lower ring engage the lever, which asks the horse to soften through the neck and jaw (mandibular pressure) with force scaled by cheek length and curb chain adjustment alike. Fit it with two reins, bit loops, or four reins, and soften the curb action further with a leather or nylon curb chain if the standard one proves too much.
