A girth that rubs can sour a horse's whole work ethic, and the Soft One Girth from Jump'In is built to prevent exactly that: soft synthetic sheepskin against the belly, durable nylon lining underneath.

How it works: the padded surface spreads the girthing pressure across the belly instead of cutting into the groove, with stainless steel roller buckles that make strapping up easier on both of you. The elastics are tripled on each side for better solidity, and there is a ring near each end for attaching a training aid.

Why we rate it: it goes in the washing machine at 30°C, which is the difference between a girth that gets cleaned and one that gets apologised for. For Australian summers, a girth you can wash properly between rides is worth having.

— Available in black-black faux fur, black-cream faux fur or havana-cream faux fur; sizes 105 to 145. See our girths range.
