Twisted cannons alone make a gag firmer; adding a central flat plate sharpens the message again. The Large Ring Twisted Gag with a flat from Jump'In is unapologetically at the strong end of the direct-gag family.

How it works: the gag action asks the horse to rebalance and shift weight onto the hindquarters, with the large rings giving the firmer end of the scale. The thin twisted cannons and central flat give the rider more action for firmer demands when the horse has stopped responding to smoother designs.

Why we rate it: Jump'In frames it for the rider with a specific problem and a plan to fix it, and the four-rein option means the strong setting is reserved for the moments that genuinely need it. Needs special gag cheek pieces. Rinse after every ride.
