Situated deliberately between two formats - Jump'In calls the New Style bit a hybrid, equidistant between the classic 3-ring and the softer German 3-ring - this is the moderation option for riders wanting a little more action without the full escalation.

How it works: the gag action follows the 3-ring family logic, but the geometry lands halfway between the direct classic and the progressive German stack, so the delivery is firmer than 'polite' and calmer than 'classic'. Rig it the standard three ways - reins fixed on the bottom ring, bit loops, or two pairs - adjusting how much of that middle-ground character you actually invoke.

Why we rate it: a finer-grained dial than most leverage bits bother to offer, and we rate that thoughtfulness - the gap between classic and German 3-rings was real, and this fills it. It suits the horse that found the classic slightly sharp and the German slightly ignorable - a genuinely common gap, as any coach running through the 3-ring ladder will confirm. German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel). Rinse the ring stack after each ride. Explore our leverage bits range.

— Sizes: 125 mm (5 in) or 135 mm (5.25 in).
