For horses that accept a Swales mechanically but found the plain cannon too much, Jump'In wraps the concept in its usual comfort: a French mouth centre that frees the palate entirely. Softer action, same clever neck-free lever.

How it works: the Swales format loads all lever pressure through the curb chain rather than the bridle cheekpieces - no neck pressure, no head-neck angle interference, less restricting than a Pelham in Jump'In's comparison. The French mouth centre distributes the mouth's side of the bargain across a palate-preserving centre, which Jump'In credits with softening the action overall. Ride direct, on loops, or with four reins; the curb chain remains the action's home.

Why we rate it: the friendliest way to introduce a horse to the Swales format, which itself is one of the more intelligent designs in the leverage catalogue. If your horse's issue is jaw-level heaviness without wanting poll engagement, this is a very deliberate, rather civilised answer. German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel). Clean the centre join and chain hooks after each ride. Compare our leverage bits.

— Sizes: 125 mm (5 in) or 135 mm (5.25 in).
