Respect is what the Jump'In Loose Ring Twisted Cannon bit asks for - politely but unmistakably. The twist in the cannon sharpens the tongue's read of the rein aid compared to a smooth barrel, which is why Jump'In positions it for horses that need to mind the bit and the hand a little more.

How it works: the twisted cannon profile brings defined ridges against the tongue and bars, so each aid lands with extra clarity over a smooth-loose-ring equivalent. At the same time, the mouthpiece releases the tongue from direct pressure, and the large flat rings give strong direction with only a light lever effect, meaning the added definition never arrives bundled with leverage.

Why we rate it: a fair intermediate - more voice than a plain loose ring snaffle, much less than anything squared-and-thin or jointed-and-severe. Horses freshly rude on the flat, or coming back into real work after a spell, typically meet it with a listening expression within a ride or two. German silver, 65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel. The twist traps grass and feed, so scrub it after riding. Explore our full snaffle bits range.
