Loose ring squared 8 mm cannons bit
Make no mistake about where the Jump'In Loose Ring Squared 8 mm bit sits: strong, for specific needs, and Jump'In says exactly that. Eight millimetre cannons with marked square edges concentrate an eye-opening amount of definition into very little metal, which is the whole point - and also the whole risk.
How it works: thin cannons shrink the bearing surface, and squared edges add tactile sharpness against tongue and bars, so even modest rein pressure arrives at full volume. The large flat rings keep direction reliable with their usual light lever effect, but the real drama lives in the mouthpiece. Nothing about this bit is subtle, by design.
Why we rate it: it earns its keep precisely in the narrow cases its built for - a seasoned campaigner that has out-politely ignored every reasonable option. With a genuinely quiet hand it lands fair; with anything rougher it's an unfair instrument, and we'd rather say so than sell the romance. If you're unsure, start with the 14 mm version and save this for a coach-endorsed decision. German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel). Rinse the edges after every ride. Our full snaffle bits are here.
— Sizes: 125 mm (5 in) or 135 mm (5.25 in).
