Self-regulating strength is the clever trick in the Jump'In Twisted and Blocked Bit: its cannons lock automatically when contact builds too strongly, then release when the pressure eases. It's a bit that escalates only as fast as the conversation does.

How it works: in neutral, the bit behaves like an ordinary twisted loose ring; when the contact between horse and hand grows heavy, the self-blocking mechanism locks the cannons solid, adding resistance and definition exactly when the horse leans. Ease off and it frees again. The twist keeps the tongue engaged throughout, and the large flat rings preserve direction with their light lever effect.

Why we rate it: a genuinely instructive design - the horse essentially teaches itself that leaning triggers firmness and softness is rewarded. For the habitual leaner being retrained, it's more productive than a flatly strong bit used flatly. Not a beginner's choice; read the LEARN MORS episode covering it before fitting. Stainless steel, so a straightforward hose-off after riding. See our broader snaffle bits collection.
