Waterford full cheek bit
Leaning, plus steering that falls apart when you challenge the lean - that's the double problem the Jump'In Waterford Full Cheek handles in one bit. Waterford cannons take away the brace; the full cheek arms keep the turns honest while you retrain the contact.
How it works: over the tongue, linked Waterford balls split the contact points continuously - the horse looking for something rigid to push against finds only a surface that rolls and gives. Around it, the full cheek arms press the outside of the cheeks for direct directional guidance, no lever action involved, so the horse that tries to drift or shove through the shoulder while leaning still gets a clear turning aid it can't escape.
Why we rate it: the combination suits exactly the horse that most anti-lean bits leave worse off - the leaner that also ignores direction, common in big, crooked young jumpers. Jump'In recommends it as a channelling aid precisely because the cheek doesn't punish the mouth while the mouthpiece does the re-educating. German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel). Wash between the balls after riding; see our full snaffle bits.
