Take Waterford linked balls and put them on big, flat loose rings and you get the Jump'In Waterford Bit - their entry-level answer to the established leaner. Jump'In is explicit that horses which take too much contact get lighter in the hand on this cannon, and the mouthpiece explains it plainly.

How it works: the Waterford cannon is made up of a series of linked balls that roll and flex with the tongue's movement, splitting contact points all the time. Instead of a rail to lean on, the horse gets a surface that reshapes at every stride. The large flat rings provide their usual strengths here - better direction with just a touch of lever effect - keeping steering precise while the mouthpiece re-educates the contact.

Why we rate it: the world's most reasonable anti-lean tool: nothing about it is harsh by design - it simply refuses to give a leaner traction. Ideal for a horse that's grown rude in a standard snaffle but isn't ready for anything with leverage. In German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel), a rinse between the balls keeps it sweet. See the broader snaffle bits collection.
