Wilson bit with rollers and loose high port
The tense horse has a champion in the Jump'In Wilson Bit with Rollers and Loose High Port. It's the ported Wilson above, with copper-tone rollers added along the cannons for a tongue that needs something to play with - the mouthing motion that turns a tight jaw into a soft one.
How it works: the Wilson four-ring layout keeps the rein contact travelling between the outer free rings and inner cannon rings, so no fixed brace point exists for a horse to lean on. The high port then lifts clear of both tongue and palate, giving the tongue its place and supporting breathing and focus. The rollers invite gentle play, which Jump'In notes helps relax the horse between aids.
Why we rate it: it's the busiest and most forgiving Wilson in the range - a soft option for the horse that combines leaner tendencies with genuine tongue sensitivity and mouth busy-ness. Riders coming off a stronger bit often school down into it neatly. German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel) throughout; the rollers and port both deserve a deliberate rinse rather than a quick splash. Browse our full snaffle bit collection.
