French mouth small cheek flat reclining Pelham bit
Where the 0029P lets its flat cannon recline, this French Mouth Small Cheek Flat Pelham fixes it solid - Jump'In says as much: the fixed cannon delivers more action than the reclining version. For the dressage-adjacent rider wanting Pelham leverage with a clearly defined message, that fixed centre is the point.
How it works: the small cheeks keep the lever effect moderate - its strength scales with branch length and curb chain adjustment - producing a neck-yielding response and mandibular pressure when the lower rein engages. The French mouth shaping keeps the roof of the mouth clear of any jab. Rig options are the standard Pelham set: direct on the snaffle ring, four reins, or Pelham loops; soften the curb action with leather or nylon chains if needed.
Why we rate it: a sensible Pelham for the horse stepping up from a snaffle, with enough respect for the mouth that it won't teach evasion. If the chain handling feels intimidating, watch the LEARN MORS series first - this French brand teaches its own equipment better than most. German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel); rinse after use. Compare our leverage bits.
