Wilson French mouth bit
Most bits present the horse with one fixed contact point to lean on, and clever horses figure that out. The Jump'In Wilson French Mouth bit takes a different line: four rings instead of two. The cheekpieces attach to the outer free rings and the reins to the inner cannon rings, so the mouthpiece stays in gentle motion and never offers a solid brace to push against.
How it works: because the cannon rings travel independently of the outer rings, the play between them splits the contact into moving parts - the rein aid arrives somewhere slightly different each stride, which stops the horse locking onto a fixed point and settling heavy. All of it sits on a French mouth centre that keeps the palate clear of pressure, so the evasion-free contact never comes at the cost of comfort.
Why we rate it: the Wilson format has a devoted following among show jumping riders for exactly this anti-bracing behaviour, and Jump'In's version is cleanly engineered in German silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel). If your horse stacks its chin on your hand over poles, this is a format worth a trial before you go stronger anywhere. See more in our snaffle bits collection, and rinse well between the four rings after riding.
